Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 9, 2026 / Last revised: July 29, 2026

This Privacy Policy (the "Policy") describes how information is handled in the app "Battery Memo" (the "App"). The developer of the App (the "Developer") respects your privacy and handles information as described below.

1. Information the Developer Collects

The App has no account registration and no server operated by the Developer.

Through the App, the Developer does not collect your name, email address, phone number, postal address, date of birth, location, contacts, calendars, health information, advertising identifier (IDFA), IP address, or any other personal information.

Everything you register in the App — device names, photos, battery types, battery counts, stock quantities, storage location notes, and memos — is stored only on your device. The Developer cannot obtain or view any of it.

The only situation in which the Developer receives information from you is when you choose to contact the Developer by email (see section 7).

2. Information Stored on Your Device

The following is stored only on your device and is never transmitted anywhere.

When a photo is saved, it is resized so that its longer side is at most 1,200 pixels and re-encoded as a JPEG. Because of this processing, metadata contained in the original photo — such as the date taken and the location where it was taken (Exif data) — is not retained.

3. Camera and Photo Access

The App uses the camera and your photos solely to let you attach pictures of your devices and battery storage locations.

Take Photo

When the camera is used, iOS asks you for permission. If you decline, only the photo-taking feature becomes unavailable; every other feature of the App continues to work. Photos you take are stored only on your device.

Choose Photo

The App uses the standard iOS photo picker. With this method, no photo library permission is requested. The App never reads your photo library as a whole — only the photo you select is handed to the App.

The App has no feature that saves photos back to your photo library.

You can change the camera permission at any time in Settings > Battery Memo on your device.

4. External Transmission, Third Parties, and Tracking

The Developer does not transmit anything you register in the App to any external server, and does not share it with any third party.

The App uses none of the following:

The App does not incorporate a single third-party SDK.

The App communicates over the network in only four situations, all of them through mechanisms provided by Apple Inc. ("Apple"):

  1. Retrieving the price of the in-app purchase, making a purchase, and restoring a purchase (communication with Apple's servers; see section 5)
  2. Showing the standard iOS review prompt after you have used the App for a while (iOS decides whether to display it, and whether you submit a rating or review is up to you)
  3. Opening the App Store review page when you tap "Rate This App" on the Settings tab
  4. Opening your device's mail app when you tap "Send Email" on the Contact screen (whether an email is actually sent is up to you)

None of this communication includes the device names, photos, stock quantities, or storage locations you registered in the App.

5. In-App Purchase and Payment Information

The App offers a one-time (non-consumable) in-app purchase that removes the limit on how many devices you can register.

All purchase and payment processing is handled by Apple (the App Store). The Developer never obtains or stores payment information such as credit card numbers, your Apple ID, your name, or your billing address.

The App queries Apple's servers for the following:

Of these results, the only thing stored on your device is whether the limit is unlocked.

For how Apple handles information, please refer to Apple's privacy policy.

6. Information Collected by the App Store and iOS

Records of purchases and downloads, crash occurrences, and usage statistics are collected by Apple.

Through App Store Connect (the console Apple provides to developers), the Developer can view aggregated information that does not identify individuals, such as the number of downloads, the number of purchases, and how often crashes occur. The Developer cannot identify any individual user or see how a particular person uses the App.

In addition, if you have enabled "Share iPhone Analytics" in Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements, crash information used for diagnosing defects may be provided to the Developer through Apple. That information contains nothing you registered in the App and nothing that identifies you. You can change this setting at any time from the same screen.

7. Information You Provide When You Contact Us

If you contact the Developer by email, the Developer receives the information contained in that email — your email address, your name if you include it, and details such as your device and the problem you are reporting.

Purposes of use:

The information is not used for any other purpose. It is not provided to third parties except as required by law, and its handling is not outsourced to anyone.

Inquiry emails are received and stored using the email service provided by Google LLC (Gmail). Google's handling of that information is governed by Google's privacy policy, and the email may be stored on servers located outside Japan.

Once your inquiry has been resolved and there is no longer a need to keep it, the email is deleted. You may also request deletion at the same contact address.

8. Retention Periods and How to Delete Your Data

Data on your device is retained until you delete it. There is no time limit.

Deleting within the App

Deleted content cannot be recovered.

Deleting everything

Deleting the App from your device deletes all of its on-device data, including your entries, photos, and settings.

About backups

If you use iOS backup features such as iCloud Backup, the App's data may be included in your device backup. Backups are governed by Apple's privacy policy and your device settings. You can manage backups in Settings > [your name] > iCloud.

About your purchase record

The record of your in-app purchase is managed by Apple and remains even if you delete the App. As long as you are signed in with the same Apple ID, you can use "Restore Purchase" after reinstalling.

9. Security

The measures the Developer takes are as follows.

No method of protection can guarantee complete security.

10. Children

The App is not designed for any particular age group and is not a children's app (it is not in the App Store Kids Category). Because the Developer collects no personal information, no personal information is collected from children either.

The App offers an in-app purchase. If a child uses the App, we recommend restricting purchases with iOS Screen Time, or using "Ask to Buy" with Family Sharing.

11. If You Live Outside Japan

The App is provided by an independent developer located in Japan.

Because the Developer neither collects nor processes personal data through the App, processing of personal data within the meaning of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), UK data protection law, or U.S. state privacy laws does not, as a rule, arise from your use of the App.

The Developer receives personal data only when you choose to contact the Developer by email (section 7). If you would like to access, correct, or delete that information, please use the contact address below.

The Developer does not sell personal data, and does not share personal data for advertising purposes, in connection with the App.

12. Changes to This Policy

The Developer may revise this Policy in response to changes in law or to the App's features. Material changes will be announced within the App. A revised Policy takes effect when it is published within the App and on the Developer's support site.

13. Contact

For questions about this Policy, or to request deletion of your information, please use the contact address below. The App is developed by an independent developer, so replies may take some time.
