This Privacy Policy (this "Policy") explains how information is handled in the iPhone application "Meal Memory" (Bundle ID: com.yuyasato.mealmemoryapp, the "App"), provided by Yuya Sato (the "Developer").
The App does not send your information to the Developer. The Developer operates no server, and the App does not communicate with any external service. The photos you record and the answers you type are stored only on your device.
That does not mean, however, that no information about you ever reaches anyone. Because the App offers an in-app purchase (unlocking the record limit), Apple receives information in connection with your download and with that purchase. And if you have device backup enabled, your photos and records are included in your iCloud backup. Sections 6 and 7 explain both in detail.

The App never collects any of the following:
Even if a photo contains capture metadata such as location (Exif), the App neither reads nor uses it. The photo file is copied, as chosen, into a folder used only by the App.

All of this is processed on your device, for these purposes only. The Developer never uses it for statistics, quality improvement, marketing, or any other purpose.
You can withdraw any permission you have granted at any time in the iOS Settings app under "Meal Memory."
Because the App is distributed through Apple's App Store, Apple receives the following information independently of the Developer.
Apple handles this information under Apple's Privacy Policy (https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/).
The App's data is stored only on your device, but it is included in your device backup if you have backup enabled. This covers both photo files and meal record data (dates and times, meal type, answers, notes, results, and settings).
If you use iCloud Backup, this data is stored in Apple's iCloud and handled under Apple's Privacy Policy. If you back up to a computer, it is stored on that computer. In either case, the Developer cannot access its contents.
If you prefer not to include it, turn off backup for this App in iOS under Settings > [your name] > iCloud > iCloud Backup. In that case, your records will not carry over when you switch devices.
If you do have backup enabled, both your photos and your records will carry over to a new device when you switch devices or restore an erased device. This is also stated in Section 5 of the Terms of Use.

However, none of this prevents someone from viewing your records if your device is lost or stolen, or if someone else learns your passcode. This Policy does not guarantee complete security. Please set a passcode on your device.
If you email the address below, your email address, any name you include, and the content of your message reach the Developer. This is information you send yourself; the App does not transmit it.
Requests for disclosure, correction, addition, deletion, or suspension of use under Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information are also accepted at this address. Note that because the App itself sends nothing to the Developer, the information the Developer holds is generally limited to your inquiry history.
The App is not designed for children and is not distributed in the App Store Kids Category. It is intended primarily for adults.
The App can be used at any age. Because it asks for no personal information, shows no advertising, and sends no information externally, neither the Developer nor any third party collects information when a child uses it. Minors should use the App with the consent of a parent or guardian.
The App is distributed on App Stores worldwide. The Developer is located in Japan, and information received through inquiries is handled in Japan.
In the "App Privacy" section of the App Store product page, the App is declared as "Data Not Collected." This means that neither the Developer nor any third party embedded in the App obtains data linked to you. Data stored only on your device, and information Apple receives in connection with purchase and distribution (Section 6), are outside the scope of that declaration.
The Developer may revise this Policy as features are added or as laws change. If revised, the updated text and the last-updated date will be posted on this page and on the Privacy Policy screen inside the App. Changes take effect when posted. Previous versions are not archived or made available.
